I think you have answered your own question :-) I'd suggest uping your ram to at least 2gb for better performance.

When I want to print on Vista Ultimate, it takes very long until even the icon in the taskbar appears.
I know I have a problem with RAM, I only got 512MB.
Could the RAM be my problem? Or something else?
