You make a folder on the HD called Kate, as an example, if you have a enough
disk space to copy the entire CD to the HD, which you should have enough
space. You select all the files/folders on the CD and copy/paste the CD to
Kate. And you run the install.exe form Kate, which should be able to make
the short-cut at that point. You should be able to copy from the root
folder on the CD so that it copies everything at once to Kate.

If that don't work for you, then you need to get on the phone with the
software's tech support and tell them *you are telling me I need to Run As
Admin* to install your software on Vista. Tech Support, you tell me how to
do this.
