| Hello,
|
| Thank you for using newsgroup!
|
| From your post, I suggest you check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
| service has been started on the Windows Vista machine. If not, please
start
| it to test the issue.
|
| If the issue persists, this problem also occurs if the camera uses the
| Microsoft Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) standard to transfer pictures
to
| the computer. Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 use the Windows Portable
| Devices (WPD) standard instead of the WIA standard to import pictures and
| videos. The WPD standard supports many devices and device connectivity
| options.
|
| To resolve this problem, configure the camera to use the Picture Transfer
| Protocol (PTP) standard instead of the WIA standard. For information
about
| how to configure the camera to use the PTP standard, see the owner's
manual
| for the camera. Or, visit the camera manufacturer's Web site.

| |
| | I connected a camera to a Vista Home Basic machine about 3 weeks ago,
| Vista
| | installed the camera and launched Autoplay which allowed me to choose
| "Import
| | Pictures Using Windows".
| |
| | I connected the same camera today and AutoPlay doesn't launch and the
| camera
| | appears in Computer as a removable disk. The AutoPlay setting for
| Pictures
| | is still "Ask Me Every Time" and if I go down in to the removable disk
I
| can
| | view the photos.
| |
| | I am helping an elderly couple and while I know it is possible to
import
| | pictures using the Photo Gallery it would be much easier for them if
| AutoPlay
| | launched.
| |
| | Has anyone seen this one before and know of a solution?
