Tonto, you are better off with a Core 2 Duo and a decent P35 Board instead of that 6000+(Unless you want SLI).
DDR2 is cheap,so if you wanna go 4GB then now is the perfect time
(IF you go 4GB then do conider getting 2 X 2GB instead of 4 X 1GB).
