I've had the same problem & have been trying for weeks to correct the
situation. There are many fixes I've read tried but none of them work - some
only work for sending 1 email. What does help is getting rid of McAfee to
speed up you system & replace it with AVG. You'll be amazed at the
difference. Disabling McAfee or Norton doesn't accomplish much since the
Windows mail has already been corrupted.
