Internet Time Synchronization Incorrect - Showing Standard Time I'm having a problem with Date and Time properties. It is synchronized with
time.windows.com, but this morning it is displaying Eastern Standard Time,
when our city (and the rest of the country, AFAIK) is still on Daylight
Savings Time until Sunday, Nov. 4.
The option to "Automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time" is enabled.
I tried changing to the time.nist.gov server to synchronize but always get
the response "an error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with
time.nist.gov." The government server's website has a long confusing
discussion about why this happens, but no actual instructions for dummies
about what to do to fix it. I guess they assume that if we can figure out
where their website is, we can figure out how to fix our problem. Sadly, no.
On their homepage, however, they do show the correct time, i.e., according to
Daylight Savings Time.
Can someone help me either
(a) helpfully point out to the powers-that-be at Microsoft that Daylight
Savings Time will continue for another week? or
(b) figure out which buttons to push to magically make the government's
server synchronize the time for my computer? or
(c) apply a different solution?
Many thanks. |
