fraoch,
Do you have the dxtmeta2.dll (may be uppercase DXTMETA2.DLL - doesn't
matter) in your Vista windows\system32 folder? If you need the dll, you can
download it from our site (link below). If you already have the dll in your
windows\system32 folder, you should only need to register it. I'm guessing
you tried start|run and then:
regsvr32 dxtmeta2.dll
If that gave you an error message or a message saying the register was
successful and yet the metacreations filters still didn't work for you,
there's something else you can try. Go to:
http://richard-and-michaela.com/?viewing_requirements
On the left of this page is a downward pointing arrow. Click on it to
download the zipped file and save it. When you unzip it, you'll see several
files including the metacreations dll which you may already have in your
windows\system32 folder. You should read the readme text file. Also, there's
a file named: registerMetaCreations.bat. If trying to register the dll the
normal way didn't work for you, you can right-click on
registerMetaCreations.bat and select 'Run as administrator' and follow the
prompts. If you can run it as administrator then hopefully this will get the
metacreations filters working for you.
Hope this helps,
Richard

Ok, since this is somewhat related to what has already been talked about
in this thread, I have a question of my own. I am a script writer for
stationery that can be used in either OE or WinMail. I have discovered
today however that I am unable to install the required dll's to be able
to use the DX transform filters and MetaCreations filters. I am in the
process of taking classes for script writing and these are required
elements of the lessons I am currently working through. Does anyone
have any idea how I can get these things installed? Every time I try I
end up with an error telling me that it couldn't be done. I know how to
do this in XP really well, however now using Vista things seem a whole
lot more complicated for installing required dlls for my script
writing.
Any help would be really appreciated.
