For some reason my Vista is showing every folder as if they was containing Music. I realize that you can chose the layout of folders for specific type of files.

However, how do i change this?
It's in the very root of my drives throughout the hierarchy. I'm interested in bits'n bytes, not artists and albums. I'd really only like such information in my Music folder.

Thank you for your obvious answer, that have evilly eluded me

(And is there perhaps a way to reset all settings, so i can have just one global setting? I'm tired of the windows being different all the time in icon size, being listed or not listed etc.)
Hi Fudwinkle,

Welcome to the Vistax64.com forum.

The "Automatic Folder Type Discovery" feature is responsible for changing your folder template to the Music one automatically when it contains just one little audio file. Method Two in this tutorial will show you how to disable this feature and reset the folder view settings so Vista will remember your settings. The download option is the easiest way of doing this.

Windows Explorer Folder View settings

This tutorial will show you how to change the Folder Template to what you want. See the examples to know which one you want to use.
