When you say "... when I am connected remotely across the VPN, I cannot remote
desktop to it.", what error or problem are you observing?
1) Cannot browse ("see" in Network)?
2) Get "name not found" aka "error 53"?
3) Get "access denied" aka "error 5"?
Using a VPN isn't the same as connecting locally, though you would like it to
be. And the nature of the exact symptom will be relevant.
There are known problems with OneCare (aka "****er") and Windows Vista.
