I just installed Vista Ultimate & have 6 WD drives in my system with 3gb RAM,
Older 2.8ghz P4. My system was acting like something was draggin it dowm, I
had just installed fresh I didn't notice 2 of my drives were not there until
I was setting up my backups. Turns out my ASH1233 ATA controller wasn't
recognized by Vista, but it was causing lot of activity somehow. Pulled the
controller & lots better....new one coming. Another problem I found was my
new SATA 750gb WD hd was causing slowness & pausing in my Media Center Live
TV. I set my Record Storage option to another drive & wallah....no pausing
what so ever & performance is a lot better.
Another note ....wierd. In the begining after Vista install I noticed after
turning the Aero option on Vista seemed a lot smoother & better.
Good luck, Jon
