I have to concur with David - your best bet is to switch from Outlook 2000 to
Windows Mail in Vista. Reluctantly, I concluded this after a full day of
misery that began with simply trying to move all my e-mail from an old XP box
to new Vista machine. Tried to install and run Outlook2k on Vista but it was
broken , could receive but not send. Tried to fix the dreaded WAB DLL not
found by copying and registering WAB DLL - it broke the Vista Contacts
function. Resorted to Windows Mail, but found WM can't read old e-mail from
Outlook2K (.pst file). Solution was to first import the old Outlook mail
(.pst) mail folders into Outlook Express 6, then import the OE6 folder into
WM - see
Outlook 2000 Inbox to Windows Vista Mail Inbox.
Agh! I'm gonna toss the XP box and get Linux - Any suggestions for managing
mail and contacts in Linux?
