I'm afraid it didn't work. (It didn't work when I was on this page when I
originally downloaded the drivers for my old printer) But I downloaded the
drivers anyway. Then the HP All-In-One screen comes up. The choices are:
Install more software
Uninstall
Help
Add a Device
Exit
I clicked Add a Device, then Connect directly to this computer, plug in the
USB cable (printer is on) then, after waiting a LONG time (it seems to get
hung up right at the end), I get the message
THE VOLUME FOR A FILE HAS BEEN EXTERNALLY ALTERED SO THAT THE OPENED FILE IS
NO LONGER VALID.
I've seen this every day for four days.
During one of my many failed installs, this error message popped up. I've
only seen it once.
PRINTER DRIVER WAS NOT INSTALLED. OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED (ERROR
0x000003ee).
Am I going to have to reinstall Vista? (I hope not!)
