Re: Can't install HP printer driver

How is the printer connected to the VISTA computer? USB or Ethernet?

Did you uninstall any HP software previously installed

This document tells you how to uninstall the HP software:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...2196&lc=en&cc=
us&dlc=en&os=2093&product=1119598&lang=en

and this one tells you how to install:

us&dlc=en&os=2093&product=1119598&lang=en

If it is connected by USB you need to install the software before you
plug the USB cable from the printer into the PC and only connect it
when the installation software tells you to, or you reach Finish.

I also find it sometimes helpful to install the software using Run as
Administrator (right mouse click on the downloaded software exe file
and select Run as Administrator from the context menu.

Just a reminder -- if you are going to try any further installation,
first uninstall what is on the PC including deleting any Printer icons
in the Printers folder.

Note also that the Home versions of VISTA do not contain the Fax & Scan
utility of Windows but any in your AIO may work or be made to work.

You may want to have a browse through the documents linked to at:

I've just been looking at the pdf file Setup Guide and if you don't
have your copy I suggest you download it:

Good luck!
