Re: Installing new Vista Home Premium OEM The first install should go relatively easy.
Anything after that your going to be lost for awhile.
Then once you figure some of it out, you'll find out how much doesn't work
with it.
Then you'll have activation issues because a butterfly flapped its wings in
Chernobyl.
Stick with XP.

Hi,
I have a DELL machine with XP SP2 pre-installed in it. I just bought Vista
Home Premium full version OEM from a online shop. After reading few posts
over here, I would like to know few things before I start install the new
OS,
a) as this Vista OEM DVD didn't come with my DELL machine, should I have any
problem installing or activation of the product key?
b) Usually what happens, with such OEM full version vistas' if you format
your HDD later and try to reinstall, need to phone MS again for activation?
c) Does HDD partition sizes have anything to do with the performance of
Vista? i.e. My C drive has 40 gb (XP installed) and D drive has 60 gb (where
I intend to install vista).
Please help me out regarding these questions. Thanks a lot. |
