Re: First posting here Welcome, Joe. I'm not one of the regulars in this NG, I usually hang in
Vista.General, but I lurk over here every day.
Glad to hear you're having fun with Vista. I am too. I'm running it on three
Dell's here; an Optiplex GX620, a Latitude D620, and a XPS Gen 2. the only
problem I'm having now is with the D620; Intel Lakeport video drivers won't
install so that box is not running Aero, AKA Aero Glass, right now. But the
other two boxes are running pretty sweet for beta code.
I'm running 5472. I did have problems with the XPS Gen 2's SB Audigy 2 sound
card in 5384; the Creative beta driver install would fail. I did manage to
get the sound card working by using a modded driver. When I got 5472, I
tried the Creative driver install again (same exact bits in fact) and it
installed like butter, no errors, sound aplenty.
Have fun playing around with 5384, but don't spend too much time trying to
figure out any problems you might encounter.
