First, the 'Local users and groups' component is not included in the Home
Basic or Home Premium versions.

This is strange, I haven't seen a problem like this reported before?

If you open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Users do you see a folder with
this user name?

Has anyone that uses the computer changed a user name in Control Panel?

My 'knee jerk' reaction would be something malicious such as a hacker
gaining access through your wireless connection? Do you have the wireless
connection secured?
