Re: chkdsk does not check drive on re-boot I had the same problem, same computer. Just figured this out. I created a boot disc from lsoft.net since lenovo didn't give me a boot disc. Got the 10 day free trial (which you should buy if this works). I created a boot disc by following lsoft instructions. then when I restarted my computer using the boot disc it lauched a menu. One menu option (don't remember which) gave me a dos prompt. I then switched to C drive and ran chkdsk /f c:. It told me the drive was locked but gave me the option to dismount the c drive which I did. Chkdsk ran like a champ and fixed my corrupted files. I am now able to run my defrag from diskeeper! This problem was a royal frustrating pain. Lenovo was no help, but hopefully this works for you. |
