OK, as I expected- apparently OneCare was trying to download the new
version- and it couldn't get access to the server since too many people were
downloading- so, it just kept trying and since it couldn't succeed- it
didn't allow OneCare to run properly- that is, it seemed to be working in
the tray, but when I clicked on the icon, and the program tried to load- it
would sort of load then I'd see the circle spinning busy signal (on Vista).
Just now, when I booted up, Vista's Security feature told me that I had no
AV program running- then, I got a message saying OneCare had downloaded the
new program and that I'd have to reboot- which I did and now everything
seems to be working.
It would be nice if V2 wasn't forced on us like this and, if the program
can't get access, it would be better programming for it to stop trying-
while we get some message that OneCare is trying to download, etc., etc.
At least now I can relax as I really don't like it when programs act up like
this without letting us know what's going on.
