Doesn't support the Microsoft Antivirus API? I'm getting the message that is described in KB article 927150, in an Excel
2007 workbook that I created, which is:
"Security Alert This file contains encrypted macros that have been disabled
because there is no antivirus software installed that can scan them. To run
these macros, remove the encryption or permission restrictions on this
file."
Apparently OneCare version 2.0 doesn't support the MICROSOFT Antivirus API?
I can reproduce this problem; it appears when you open an Excel workbook
saved in an Excel 2007 xlsm file (a macro-enabled workbook) that has been
encrypted by Excel with a password (which is under the Excel "Prepare"
menu).
The KB article suggests workarounds that might be "useful if your virus-
scanning program does not support the Microsoft Antivirus application
programming interface (API)".
I can't BELIEVE that OneCare antivirus doesn't support this Microsoft API.
Do any other AV programs support this API? Should I upgrade to a "better"
AV program? (I really don't want to change away from OneCare... I was in
the beta test program for 2.0, and I like OneCare.)
Does anyone know if MS plans to update OneCare in the future to support
this API?
