Thanks to everyone who alerted us to the install issue with KB 946486,
with
special thanks to Sunshine!
I wanted to let you know we are pulling the patch for KB 946486 from
Microsoft Update. The package is being removed today, and should no
longer
be available by this evening. We've got a handle on the problem, but we
felt it best to halt deployment until we can resolve the issue.
If you have experienced the install problem, we apologize. Your Photo
Gallery application should be unaffected, and all your data will remain
intact -- you just won't have fix we were trying to deploy.
If you would like to know if you successfully installed the patch before
it
was removed from Windows Update, you can check your application version
number -- a patched install will list v12.0.1321.0110 under
"Help"/"About
Windows Live Photo Gallery".
Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused.
Thanks to you, we were able to react quickly and remove the patch before
it
caused further anguish.
