Vista x64 is the way to go. Just make sure that you can get x64 drivers for all your hardware.

I've been using Vista Ultimate x64 for just over a year now, and can testify to it's stability and compatibility. You shouldn't have a real problem.

It's usually the programs that provide 32-Bit extensions (right-click context menus and such) to Explorer that give a problem. Older versions of programs like WinRAR, WinZip and Copy Handler come to mind. WinRAR and WinZIP have already updated and provde full x64 support.

Mainstream Games in genral run better on x64 than ever before, even if they are 32-Bit programs. COD works great, as does Diablo II.

Go with Vista x64. You won't look back!
