CCleaner seems to be a program to be careful with. I'd gathered it was a "Safe" registry cleaner so allowed it its head, but then found I'd lost several file associations (including pdf, jpg and ico). Attempting to re-merge its saved reg file came up with the "Failure" comment as some files were in use. No real damage, but some wasted time.
