I regret that the same problem happened on my Vista Ultimate machine. I ran
the script you referenced, even though it states it's for XP only. It
didn't fix the problem.
I couldn't do the System Restore on the Vista machine, because System
Restore was mysteriously turned off and all of my restore points were gone.
I know System Restore was on last week. When I uninstall the
drives/drivers, the "Found New Hardware" just brings them back with Code 19.
How can I get my CD/DVD drives back from Code 19 land?
