For the other security programs, there are some great free ones available out there you might consider trying before you pay for one. Here's a list of some great free programs that work with Vista.

Free Software List for Vista

I never had anything with these installed.
1. Spybot Search & Destroy
2. Avast or AVG antivirus
3. SuperAntiSpyware
4. COMODO Firewall Pro
