Sounds like you're getting artifacting. Could be a lot of things, but usually the culprit there is an overheating video card. There is a chance it's just a coincidence that it happened when you put in the RAM.

But, barring that, something might not be seated quite right. Try pulling the RAM you just put in and plugging it back in (make sure it is nice and snug). While you are at it, you might want to check your video card and make sure it is seated right.

If that doesn't solve it, take the cover off of your computer while you open up a game. That'll increase airflow. If you have one, set up a fan to blow into the opening. If that solves the problem, you'll know it's a heating issue.
