All I can say, Zilla, is that I clicked on Windows Update; it said the
download was available; I clicked install, and literally walked away from my
laptop. I didn't have any problems at all. Somewhere in the process -
beginning or end, I can't remember - Update indicated my machine needed
approximately 65 megs. And, that was that. I did visit some MS site
beforehand for standalone stations, where the download for 32 bit Vista was
450 megs. But it advised I use Windows Vista Update, rather than download
the larger version. So, I took their advice.
That's my experience. I do have a newer machine - approximately two months
old - and that may have played a part, I don't know. Others will have to
fill you in on their thoughts. The key, I guess, is to make sure your
drivers are all updated. At least, that's what I've been reading in these
posts.
Hope you find this "comforting".
Take care,
Ernie
