I remember when the first longhorn (Vista) betas more than 3 years ago and they had the same problems with sound it does today...unfortunatly theres no known 100% method of fixing the problem, First try uninstalling the sound device and rebooting to see if that fixes the sound or if its still not working usually the only other method is reinstalling vista.
