How long does this persist for? The memory usage is fairly normal. The CPU spike
should go away very quickly, though. There are three possible causes -
1. the engine, msmpeng.exe is scanning all of the services and processes as they
load back up on resume
2. something is conflicting with msmpeng.exe and it is fighting to maintain the
ability to scan processes and files
3. the scheduled quick scan is taking place as the PC was asleep when it was
supposed to run.
If it is #3, then I would expect CPU usage to taper off quickly and drop
dramatically after about 3 to 5 minutes.
