BSOD and unexpected shutdown shortly after waking from sleep mode Can someone please help me. I'm at my wits end and tempted to throw my computer out a window.
I'll start at the beginning. I own an XPS 410 desktop computer from DELL with a Core 2 duo. I ordered it the same week they started pushing Vista. I wanted XP but they were not allowing that at that time. So I JUMPED from windows 98 right up to VISTA. Massive changes you know.
anyway, recently something happened (still not sure what it was) and my SATA Digital Western 250 GB hard drive stopped working. after days of searching I gave up on 250GB and got a 320 instead. It's exactly the same otherwise as far as brand. My Brother in law is more Techy than I by far so he helped me install the new hard drive. and reload Vista to the new drive. It took three days to get all my drivers updated with windows Update, then I went to DELL.Com to be sure that my drivers were updated and also went to many manufacturer websites and updated a little more.
My problem is this. When my computer comes out of sleep mode I get the dreaded blue screen with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO on the top. I can never catch the message at the bottom because the screen flashes too fast then shuts down, then it reboots and I get the message windows has shut down expectedly, bla bla problems and solutions and of course that doesnt come up with any solutions for me.
here are some of the things i tried all ready
I updated bios, updated Nvidia video driver straight from Nvidia website.
went one by one through my origional computer specs right from Dell, and updated any drivers that I could understand what it's for.
ran diagnostics from dell
I would like to try updating motherboad driver but dont know what they call it.
please can someone help me with the blue screen issue and how do i find the motherboard driver, where is it in device manager |
