I had the same problem and I found this solution which worked for me and
which was posted by Zachary on 12/18/2007 at 9.58pm PST:
The deleted Account returns when you restart Windows Mail but the problem
has gone!!:
I figured it out! It's the "Microsoft Communities" folder at the bottom!!!
When it downloads your e-mails it's also trying to download postings into
the Microsoft Communities folder, but if you don't have that set up then it
won't be able to. And so there's an error message, but it doesn't know how to
tell you what's wrong.
The solution is simple, click on "Microsoft Communities" with your right
mouse button and select "Remove Account". Confirm that you want to remove the
account and the problem is solved!
