Re: 100% 64-bit device/drivers for vista x64

I definitely agree with you about the creative driver situation; just terrible.

Regarding nVidia and ATI x64 drivers, I'm using a nVidia 8600GT now and it has some x32 companion processes running under rundll32.exe wrappers. Probably to do with the nVidia control panel as that does not work if these processes are stopped. Are the Omega drivers similar?

I'm not familar with ATI in this regard having only taken a brief look at a work Dell using a X300, but I didn't notice any x32 processes running.

In my opinion Vista x64 runs better without any x32 processes existent. But currently I have to startup and then thru. task manager end those processes - UGH! And the creative driver has a x32 processes that can't be terminated .

Both Nvidia and ATI have drivers for x64 for most of their products. As far as sound goes I just use onboard anymore. My klipsch system sounded best with it. I had an Audigy 2 card but the drivers suck and creatrive hasent released a real working one since March 07. So I went to onboard and for the last year have refused to use their products. They did'nt lose out on much. I only built about 6 or 700 systems in te last year. Just a drop in the bucket to a company so big they can dis their customers.

By the way if your looking for a great deal on a video card go to newegg, com and check out the EVGA 8800GTS. It on sale. After rebate(mail in $30.00) its just $114.00.
