Re: Too silent output into SPDIF on Realtek

You need to change the volume level of the SPDIF interface. To do this, right click the speaker icon in the system tray. Select 'Playback Devices' and then select 'Realtek digital Output'. Click 'Properties'. On the 'Levels' tab, you should be able to adjust the volume and balance. Also, check the 'Supported Formats' tab. Click 'OK' to return to the main 'PlaybackDevices' dialogue. Finally, do not forget that in order to use this interface as an output device, it needs to be selected. Make sure that this device is highlighted and then click 'Set Default'. Close the dialogue box. Note that your analogue speakers will now be silent, and that all audio output will be channelled through the SPDIF interface.
