| I prefer to have Vista notify me for available updates but
OneCare deems it necessary to warn me that this needs immediate
attention and the OneCare icon in the notification area on the
taskbar is, believe red. I hjave since uninstalled OnCare.
Anyway to prevent OneCare from doing this and allowing me to have
Vista notify me of updates without causing a panic??
Thanks,

James,
I also have Live OneCare and had the same issue. What I did, and what I recommend is that you set automatic updates to yes and specify what day of the week you want to have them installed. This will make Live OneCare happy but still give you control over what updates are actually installed. Just check the Windows Update page frequently so you can catch the update page before your selected day for auto install.
I hope this helps.
