Juk3 can you give us some more details about your computer so we have a better idea about your configuration...such as what OS (32bit or 64bit vista), motherboard model, hard drive type (IDE or SATA) and what security software you have installed like mcaffe, Symantec or any other related software.....

Without more details about your system I can only say one of these software packages may have unknowingly tampered with the service pack installation or a serious system error has occurred before the installation of SP1 causing these errors.
