file folder type. The toolbar shows things like Slide Show, etc. The
sub-directories are all fine and appear as a General type. I'm running Vista
Ultimate 32-bit, without SP1.
How do I change the folder type back to General? I can't figure out how
with this single folder. It's driving me nuts.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Jim,
This tutorial will show you how to change the folder template back to "All Items" again.
Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates
To stop Vista from changing the folder templates on you automatically, you can do the "Disable Automatic Folder Type Discovery for Templates" section in Method Two of this tutorial.
Windows Explorer Folder View settings
Hope this helps you,
