Gary, can you conform that the link you posted is the place to get info on the parasite and not the place to get the
parasite itself -- I'm a bit paranoid at the moment

My guess is that's what it was - I use Flashblock so flash items are not auto displayed in FF.

The other day I struck a site, purportedly related to OOo, that had not much more than a a flash video, I clicked on
Flashblocks play and the video didn't do any thing sensible so I closed the window.

The site came high up, but below sponsored links, on an MS Live search for "openoffice ??????" but I can't remember what
the ????? was. Could have been Writer's Tools as I was trying to get it working about then, which it now is. At the
time I wondered whether MS might have "planted" the seemingly useless site in the search, but I actually don't believe
they would. I'd set my default to to Live search because Google decided I was a shopaholic, whereas I am in fact a
shopaphobic.

Someone else has posted a thread in m.p.w.xpbasics with Task Manager problem.

My IE is behaving badly, cant close tabs, and another program "Belarc Adviser" is causing the spurious Outlook Express
dialogue box - I am now 99.5% certain it's malware.

I wont post anymore here as it is clearly not a WLM issue.
