I can play in dx9 by doing as you suggested, using game explorer, clicking on crysis and selecting dx9. However when i try dx10 the screen flashes black for a second and then its back to desktop. I using 174.74, why will it play dx9 and not dx10 and yes im on patch 1.2.
Also when i play in dx9 i dont think i select very high only high, i know i can play games in dx10 cos Bioshock allows me in the graphic options to select dx10 and it looks great.
Should i install driver 174.93 beta. i will try tonight to just select play and try the graphic settings to very high to see if its in dx10. what do you all think.
In dx9 it plays awesome, smooth as silk and looks great. I wonder what it be like in dx10 when i have the following.

A new beta driver is out? Man, I go to bed too early.
Are you using an LCD? Is your vsync on? If not, turn it on and try it. Then check to see if you have the nvidia Network Access Manager installed. If you do, uninstall it. It won't mess up your network settings. I've seen that cause the black screen and crash error when using directX 10.
