I know. But in the case of 802.11n, we're seeing real-world throughput of about 70 - 80Mbps with short hops. About 17 - 19MBps with 802.11g and about 22 - 25Mbps with 802.11a. Those can vary based on network setup and topography and that ever present radio interference.

In most cases and setups, higher MAX means higher throughput (except in the case of a vs. g where interference takes its toll on g).
