I think you can make a backup of your pst file and then import it to your lap top. Check out
How to manage .pst files in Outlook 2007, in Outlook 2003, and in Outlook 2002 and see if that will help you out. I'm assuming you are going from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2007. I ran into a problem with going from 2000 to 2007 but I got it fixed and working properly. Hope that helps!
