| Hi Dzomlija.
No I tried Corel PaintShopPro Photo X2. and it no longer works.
Then I tried PSP 8, with the same results So I tried PSP 9.
In each case it installed, then came the standard 'you must reboot to be able to use this software' .
So I did and it booted but the programme would not open as it said that there was a file missing.
So I turned it off left it whiole I went shopping or gardening for an hour or so then came back and switched the PC on. that is when it refused to boot at all.
Sorry to confuse you.

Ok then, my mistake. But there is something else going on here than just PSP failing to run. For one, I've installed PSP X2 dozens of times of various different installations of Vista, and none of those installations required a reboot. PSP installed, and it ran correctly (with the exception of the PSP catalog crashing because of over 40,000 files in my Pictures folder).
What other software are you running in the background. If necessary, use MSCONFIG to disable all but the most essential (antivirus software and the like) software prior to installing PSP.
