Believe me, I didn't post this to instigate a flame war.
Having come from AMD and trying out the Intel Quad Core, it performs really, really well.
I only recommended this from my positive experience. If their is an equivalent counterpart from AMD (which performs as well) then go for it...I have no affiliations with either company.
