Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Accidental deletion...

Very unusual. When you removed the Microsoft Communities news account, the relevant folder should have been deleted from the Message Store, but I think that may not have happened, thus causing the addition of '(1)' to the account name when you re-added it later on.

Please go to your Windows Live Mail Message Store*. There you may find that you have a folder called "Microsoft Communities", and another folder called "Microsoft Communities (1)".

If so, again remove the Microsoft Communities newsgroup account within Windows Live Mail, then close WLMail, and then delete those folders in your WLMail Message Store that refer to Microsoft Communities.

Then repair your Quick views** that will most likely have broken. The Quick views are known to break in the current version of WLMail (12.0.1606) if any folder is deleted within WLMail (in an Account or under Storage folders), if a Feed is deleted, or if one un-subscribes to a Newsgroup (and probably removes an account containing subscribed newsgroups).

You can then open WLMail and set up the Microsoft Communities newsgroup account again.

Good luck.

*To find the location of your Message Store, go to: Tools->Options...->Advanced [tab]->Maintenance->Store Folder (the default location is a hidden folder).

**To repair the broken Quick views, delete the registry Value "SearchFolderVersion" under the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail. This will cause WLMail to rebuild its Quick view data store when it is next started.
