after doing some research on your issue i figured out that this problem is only specfifc to IBM machines. Access Connections
It overrides the file and print sharing setting on your network connection if enabled (among other important settings). To change your settings: Access Connections - manage - select your connection - edit - additional settings. This should fix your problem.
