Re: Live Calendar Desktop ?

G'day

I'm of the opinion that MS made a mistake when it bundled Schedule+ and the
email system it got from Canada, into Outlook and in turn into Office. The
mess we have now with a plethora of mail solutions and no coherent
calendaring solution from MS is a legacy of that decision.

You imply that a S'Bird beta from OOo is more likely to be stable, than
something similar from Mozilla, on what basis do you make that conclusion.
I think I'm right is saying that the OOo crew are after Thunderbird too.

The OOo application is every bit as monolithic as the MS-Office, and whilst
it may conform to the rules of Open Source, it also falls a long way short
of conforming to the spirit of Open Systems. From my perspective the OOo
crew are so anti Microsoft that they don't even acknowledge that it (MS) has
a history from which lessons can be learnt.

It seems to me that by getting its hands on T'Bird and S'Bird that the OOo
crew is determined to repeat the same errors. They claim not to operate on
the "me too" principle, IMO they are so "me too" they want to make the same
mistakes - imitation may be the best form of flattery, but when it includes
making the same mistakes it is surely stupidity.

BTW - I don't have MS Office, I have OOo.
