I cannot see the thumbnail of my pictures (jpg, tif, bmp) in windows explorer
regardless of what view style i choose (medium , large icons etc) or what
template i assign to the folder (Pictures and Videos). All I see is the
generic thumbnail of a picture (cartoon mountains and seascape). Same for
movies (wmv and mpg and mov)

Any ideas would be good. This is quite frustrating!
