I don't know of any practical way save the images. Anything I could
think of would take a lot of manual work on your part for each message.
You have the same issue with any links in an e-mail. Eventually they
may stop working because of changes at the web sites they point to.
And just opening the message would give at best temporary fix. To be
permanent, you'd have to save the images to your hard disk. Then edit
the message source to point to saved images.
