I also use paid yahoo features, Yahoo Mail Plus. However, I prefer to download my mail from yahoo into Thunderbird. This allows me to check my mail using the yahoo website while away, but still save them to my local computer when I get back to my desk. I know this is not what you want to do. I do however, have YIM installed on 2 separate PCs, one with XP Pro 32, and one with Vista Biz 64. I can verify that on both PCs, with YIM 9.0 beta installed, that there is no option to change the system default mail handler to Yahoo. Since I don't plan on reverting back to YIM 8.1, I can't really say how that operates to date on either OS, but I have seen it working normally as you requested, but only using XP and YIM 8, 8.1, or below. |
