On this one I agree. Far too much the look of WIP...

BTW even though Desktop is part of this newsgroup's name
and even though WLMail is the only app in XP that uses WDS
this newsgroup may not be the best forum for discussing this.

E.g. try the MSDN Windows Desktop Search Help forum
but first make sure that the WS 4.0 Taskbar Search at least
can find things in the WLMail Message Store. Then notice
that the WLMail "word wheel" (aka Ctrl-e Search bar) at least
allows you to find things using multiple strings (with implied
Boolean AND operators) but that can only produce hits from
the bodies of messages when the wsearch service is actually
running and has indexed those messages.

FWIW I think that this poster has (except for an obvious typo [1])
accurately but not objectively characterized exactly what WLMail
does with WS 4.0 but YMMV:

all but the most basic of search functionality is supported
in the Live Mail interface, and the pertinent fields, such as sender
and date do not display in the WDS interface for WLMail.

[1] FWIW I read that as "NONE but the most basic..." <eg>
