Re: Lost all folders

I have a similar problem. At first, I found that folders would 'disappear'
in front of my eyes. Looking around, I found that the missing folders had
tucked themselves inside others. I spent ages dragging them back where they
belonged but when I checked the contents, by the time I was half-way down the
folder list all the messages in the later folders had disappeared, together
with the column headings. If I then close the mail program and restart it,
all the folders except the 'Inbox' have disappeared completely.

Restarting in 'Safe Mode', I could find all the folders and messages without
difficulty, although some were not where they should be. After dragging them
back to their right places again and restarting normally I found that the
folders were in their right places, but on checking contents I found that the
later folders had become corrupted again, as above. If I try checking the
folders from the bottom of the list and working up, the same thing happens in
reverse and even the folders that were ok when I started the check become
corrupted.

I have also had similar problems with folders moving around in my
'Documents' folder, so the problem appears not to be confined to Windows Mail!

I have also tried turning off 'click-lock', disabling the e-mail scanners in
my AV software and disabling the AV software completely and re-booting.
Nothing makes any difference. A diagnostic check on the memory also found
no problems.

I have also had three or four 'blue screens' in the last two weeks or so,
which may or may not be connected, but, so far have had no response from
Microsoft.

My Windows Updates are up-to-date as of yesterday, including SP1.

Help, please!
