Lance - I believe Windows Live Mail (WLM) is still in Beta, at least as far as Vista is concerned.
From my short experience with WLM running on Vista, there are a number of technical problems, not to mention many human interface frustrations. On a scale of 1-10, I would personally rate WLM a 2. (One "excellent" feature I see in WLM is, it immediately sends all of Microsoft's own promotional adv emails to my "Junk Mail" folder.

)
I suspect MS decision to continue allowing OE access to Hotmail is more related to a loss of advertising revenue from OE users, who are switching in mass from Hotmail to other email providers such as Gmail or Yahoo (the latter using OE with
YPOPs! for POP3 access.)
I suspect they'll keep OE going until Vista's replacement is released late next year. Microsoft apparently doesn't have enought personnel to fix all their software problems, such as those encountered recently with SP3 for XP, which is causing a lot of problems following it's installation.

I didn't see in the email that it is going to be supported indefinitely. Is
Mail Live still in beta? If so, is this a bug that can be addressed?
